Types of Coaching

Executive Coaching

You’ve grown into a new level and new responsibilities. The old ways of succeeding aren’t enough to thrive. We work together to build the thinking and action needed to navigate pressure with steadiness and clarity.

Typical focus areas:

  • Leading through influence
  • Executive communication
  • Delegation and prioritization

Career Coaching

Careers rarely move in straight lines. You may be pivoting, or considering it, and need to integrate past success with what now feels possible. Together we connect the threads across experience, gaps, and transitions to clarify what comes next.

Typical focus areas:

  • Clarifying values for major transitions
  • Deepening the career “story”
  • Interviewing with confidence

Communication & Presence

You have strong ideas and a clear point of view, yet your presence does not always carry the weight of what you mean to say. We take a deep dive into how you show up physically and vocally, so your presence reflects your thinking.

Typical focus areas:

  • Performance anxiety
  • Vocal presence
  • Physical confidence

What set this coaching experience apart was how human and safe it felt. You met me with warmth, humor, and honesty, and consistently guided me to the right questions rather than easy answers. The impact of this work has been lasting, and I’m deeply grateful for it.

Working together

All engagements are bespoke, but typically include:

  • Two 60-minute sessions per month, in-person in NYC or Zoom
  • On-demand phone and email support as needed
  • 3, 6 or 12 month engagements
  • Resource recommendations and tools as needed

What does a session look like?

In each session, we start by exploring where to focus, then clarify what a meaningful step forward might be. Sometimes this results in a written plan. Other times, it may mean simply clarifying what the problem even is.

The process is reflective, but rigorous. We work to support sustained, measurable behavior change in the most impactful areas. My role is to challenge clients to push significantly further than they’ve gone alone.

About Mike

I was an opera singer who went into tech, spending almost a decade hiring and advising for VC-backed, pre-scale startups, from edtech to D2C. I also continued to sing nationally and develop independent artistic projects.

Across it all, I wondered: how can we more deeply understand what makes someone thrive? How can we more creatively and holistically understand a person’s skills and motivations, and match that to more meaningful work? I drew from my own journey’s twists and turns to connect with others making similar leaps into entrepreneurship, across sectors, or toward projects without a clear precedent.

Now, I coach intellectually curious leaders who don’t fit neatly into a single lane. Across leadership challenges, career pivots, and communication strategies, we explore how to connect a compelling vision with the rigor needed to deliver in the real world.

My approach draws on 20+ years of exploring and applying performance psychology and personal growth. My certification at the Hudson Institute of Coaching brought academic rigor and a holistic perspective to a foundation built across decades of serious performance training and organizational work.
